The Sea Bees kicked off the year with a fantastic outing to Patonga Beach, one of NSW’s most beautiful and secluded coastal spots. Despite the scorching heat, spirits were high as members spread out along the shoreline to try their luck.

A handful of quality fish were landed throughout the morning.

  • Michael Markich reeled in two flathead (420mm and 370mm) along with two whiting.

  • Stephen Boots secured the standout catch of the day with a 485mm flathead.

  • Cristy Dickson added to the tally with a solid 400mm flathead and stole the spotlight with her rare, exotic blue‑spotted flounder—a true surprise and the highlight of the trip.

  • Kurt Forrester chipped in with three flathead (largest 480mm) and a 300mm bream.

With the temperature climbing, the group wrapped up a little earlier than planned and headed to the Boathouse Hotel for a well‑earned lunch and some cool relief.

A huge thank‑you to everyone who braved the heat and helped make it a relaxed, social day out—with a few fish thrown in for good measure!
