Seabees Fishing Trip Report – Lake Windamere

Seabees Fishing Trip Report – Lake Windamere

3rd-5th October 2026

Report by Kurt Forrester

The Seabees fishing trip to Lake Windamere was a challenging but rewarding weekend attended by Sam, Ron, Bec, Dave, Kurt, Neil and family.

Despite tough fishing conditions and many hours spent searching for fish, we managed to land a total of 20 fish, including 16 Golden Perch and 4 Murray Cod.

The largest Golden Perch of the trip was caught by Bec, measuring an impressive 577mm, while Dave landed the biggest Murray Cod at 652mm.

Most of the fish were caught trolling, although a few were successfully taken while casting lures.

While storms threatened on Saturday night, we managed to avoid the worst of the weather and were treated to a spectacular light show across the lake.
